Advanced Transformative Mediation Training

Develop your transformative conflict intervention skills!

This training presents the transformative approach in mediation that cultivates positive changes in the way parties view their situation and it is particularly effective when the participants seem unwilling to engage in cooperative problem solving or are reluctant to accept “reasonable” solutions. The training is therefore intendent for mediators who have beforehand attended the Basic Training in Transformative Mediation at The Zavod RAKMO Institute or elsewhere. The training builds on the basics in transformative mediation in terms of detailed analysis and coaching in transformative mediation skills of practitioners who have adopted skills of transformative mediation in practice.

To experienced mediators this training offers an opportunity to develop their transformative conflict intervention skills. The training includes a review of the core principles that support transformative practice, including core assumptions about conflict and that the potential human beings have to act with a balance of empowerment and recognition. The training will also review the main skills of transformative practice and examine how those skills support the constructive transformation of the parties’ interaction.

Through combination of presentations, interactive exercises, self-reflection, role plays, and discussions, participants will be invited to actively participate in training and will receive individualized, constructive feedback from the instructor to improve their work. Finally, the course will address the challenges that transformative mediators often face in their practice, including challenges that stem from sustaining the value commitments of transformative practice and the communication/performance challenges of enacting the core skills.

Training will be held in English, conducted by Marko Iršič – a Master of Educational Studies and a Certified Transformative Mediator from the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation.

Marko Iršič is one of the leading experts in the field of communication and conflict management in Slovenia. He is an active Mediator, Mediation Trainer and the CEO of The Rakmo Institute, which deals with education and research in Communication and Conflict management. Currently, he is also the President of the European Association for Transformative Mediation.

He is is also the author of books The Art of Conflict Management (2004), Communication Wellness (2017), Conflict Competence (2018), Anger Management (2020), Mediation 1.st (2010) and 2.nd edition (2020), Stress Management (2021) and The Book on Communication Wellness, 21 Ways to Transform Your Conversations in Business and Personal Life (2021).

He obtained the license of Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and has a degree Master of Educational Studies in Leuven in Belgium. He currently works as a trainer in communication, conflict management and mediation.

Training fee:
– EARLY BIRD: paid before May 24th, 2022: 400,00 euro (VAT not included),
– REGULAR FEE: paid after May 24th, 2022: 500,00 euro (VAT not included).

Cancellation policy:

Registration fee for the seminar is nonrefundable. Substitute of the participant is possible.
