The Training will be conducted by the founding father of transformative mediation and co-author of the book The Promise of Mediation: Responding to Conflict through Empowerment and Recognition and The Promise of Mediation: The Transformative Approach to Conflict, which represents the ground literature work for transformative mediation.

This training program builds on the 4-day Basic Training in Transformative Mediation: Ideological Foundations and Practice in terms of detailed analysis and coaching in transformative mediation skills of practitioners who have adopted skills of transformative mediation in practice.

To experienced mediators this training offers an opportunity to develop their transformative conflict intervention skills. The training includes a review of the core principles that support transformative practice, including core assumptions about conflict and that the potential human beings have to act with a balance of empowerment and recognition.   The training will also review the main skills of transformative practice and examine how those skills support the constructive transformation of the parties’ interaction.

Participants will practice mediating during the training and will receive individualized, constructive feedback from the instructor to improve their work.  Finally, the course will address the challenges that transformative mediators often face in their practice, including challenges that stem from sustaining the value commitments of transformative practice and the communication/performance challenges of enacting the core skills.

Program of the Advanced Training

The training is intended for mediators who have beforehand attended the 4-day Basic Training in Transformative Mediation: Ideological Foundations and Practice (either in Portorose 2012 or Ljubljana 2013, Slovenia, or elsewhere).

Advanced Training on Transformative Mediation will be held in English. Plenary sessions will be held in English, though participants will be allowed to do the practice skills and the role plays in their native language.

If you did not attend the Basic Training by now, you can register for 4-day Basic Training that will be realized in November 2013 and March 2014 by Marko Iršič, Certified Transformative Mediator.

The seat on the Advanced Training is guaranteed only with the complete payment of registration fee.

Training fee:

- paid before May 1, 2014: 690,00 euro (VAT not included),
- after May 1, 2014: 890,00 euro (VAT not included).

Your registration is confirmed with the payment of the training fee. Information for the training fee payment will be included in the confirmation of your registration.
Number of participants is strictly limited.

Cancellation policy:
- Cancelling before May 1, 2014 will result in 50% refund – substitute from the same organization possible with no extra charge.
- Cancelling after May 1, 2014 – no refund – substitute from the same organization possible with payment of additional 10% of administrative costs.

The Organizer reserves the right to modify the program and/or to change other published organizational details.
